Handspun Yarn of a Majickal Propensity
Welcome to Widdershin Woolworks, where fine fibers rule.
I am an old enough hermit type who has seen a lot of the world and loves Northern New Mexico more than anywhere.
This fiber journey began in 1995, when I took my newly formed hand spun yarn business, Widdershin Woolworks, to Stitches East and learned a lot. I stayed with it and for the next ten years did Maryland Sheep & Wool, Stitches East & West, as well as the various regional shows. And then I disappeared...
The year 2005, found me in India being ordained as a nun, by the Dalai Lama. The next five years flew by as I was studying, doing retreat and traveling to Tibet, Nepal, China, Ladahk; all the while lugging a little Kromski spinning wheel. It wasn't easy... and yes, they called me the 'spinning nun' and the yarn was 'nun spun'. sigh.
Finally, it was time to come home to my beloved New Mexico, to build a hermitage for like minded hermits. So you all are a very big part of this process, as the yarn and roving I sell are helping to bring it all into being. THANK YOU. Here's an address to read about the hermitage : http://www.retreatmountain.org
Please know that every skein of yarn and every roving are made with love and blessings...
